curiosity, I have a natural curiosity to understand another person’s thoughts

Francis Restoy

Relationship builder – Tenacious – Flexible

My purpose is to design more useful, delightful and sustainable products, and to help both teams and companies with methodologies in design thinking and a systemic thinking approach.

I live in Madrid and I am happily married for 23 years. My furry companion, Sugar, is a beloved dog who brings joy to ours lifes.

Despite being born in France, I’ve always felt a connection to the south due to my mother hailing from Osuna and my father from Granada. As a result, I have southern blood running through my veins. Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to various cities, countries, and encounter diverse perspectives that have broadened my mental horizons.

I began my career with a graphic design studio, which eventually expanded to include content production and event planning. Alongside my partners Christian and Joseba, we founded refr3sh, a digital creation studio that quickly became one of the most successful and innovative in the early 2000s. Our boutique approach ensured that every aspect of our digital products, from design to development, was meticulously crafted. As a matter of course, every project originated from a dialogue between Joseba and myself, representing the intersection of technology and design. Does this sound familiar to you?

Curiosity – I feel an innate curiosity to try to get closer to another person’s thoughts, try to understand why they see the world in a different way. When that happens, I discover wonderful places where creativity and imagination flourish, where co-creation generates a feeling of belonging and where we feel satisfied with the journey traveled, and the results obtained.

Through design thinking, I have gained a more systematic understanding of people and companies’ problems. Sometimes, the designs we create act as Trojan horses, allowing us to access and transform the culture of organizations, which is where true transformation occurs.

I believe in the importance of continuous learning and have found that exploring topics such as human relations, psychology, philosophy, design, and technology has greatly influenced my thinking. Additionally, I have a passion for music and am a dedicated collector of vinyl records.

I have been participating in sports for as long as I can remember. It is a great way to relieve the stress that we often accumulate in our daily lives without even realizing it.
